Alex joined WAGES in the spring of 2010 as Director of Development & Evaluation. In her current role she oversees infrastructure at WAGES, including fund development, external relations, program evaluation, and administration. Born and raised in upstate New York, Alex relocated to California after living and working as a teacher and translator in Mexico City from 1992-96. Her background in the nonprofit sector includes roles that bring resources to and increase the effectiveness of organizing, social service, and intermediary organizations, through fund development, program management, evaluation, and grantmaking. She has worked at organizations dedicated to advancing social justice and improving the lives of children, youth and their families. She holds a bachelors degree in Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and currently serves on the boards of FACES-SF and two of WAGES’ mature cooperatives (Home Green Home and Natural Home Cleaning Professionals).
