Alexandra Armenta
Director of Development & Evaluation

Alex joined WAGES in the spring of 2010 as Director of Development. She oversees fund development and communications, as well as WAGES' evaluation work. Born and raised in upstate New York, Alex relocated to California after living and working as a teacher and translator in Mexico City for four years following high school. Her background in the nonprofit sector includes more than fourteen years of experience working to resource and increase the effectiveness of organizing, social service, and intermediary organizations. Alex has supported social change efforts in roles that include fund development, program management, evaluation, and grantmaking, working at organizations dedicated to advancing social justice and improving the lives of children, youth and their families. She holds a bachelors degree in Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and currently serves as Vice President on the Florence Crittenton Services Board of Directors.
