Monica Balanoff
Program and Curriculum Development Fellow

As part of the New Sector Residency in Social Enterprise Program, Monica is enthusiastic about spending her year of service helping WAGES. Monica will support the advancement of co-ops by documenting and developing the integral worker-owner training curriculum. Through offering economic and educational opportunities, Monica sees WAGES as a program that has the potential to transform the lives of the involved women, their families, and their communities.

Prior to joining WAGES, Monica’s work focused on Middle Eastern politics. She has worked and studied in Morocco, Syria, and Palestine in capacities that aimed at improving the lives of marginalized populations. Most recently, she created a sailing and conflict resolution program, Seas of Peace, for young adults from Israel, Palestine and the United States. Monica graduated from Dartmouth College, where her studies focused on the Middle East and public policy. In her free time, Monica enjoys rock climbing and knitting. She continues to spend her summers on the ocean.
