The main function of the Eco-Friendly Cleaning Co-op Network is to be a vehicle to uphold social, environmental, and business standards among participating co-ops, along with quality standards on all aspects of the business. WAGES provides specific business services and network supports to strengthen and grow both incubating and mature co-ops. Some of our network supports include:
- Standards: The Network facilitates information sharing about business, financial, and social indicators; information that can be used for marketing, quality assurance, and to highlight innovations or best practices with other network-member cooperatives.
- Professional Development: Programs like the Co-op Managers’ Circle and the Annual Network Celebration provide venues for training and growth.
- Support to Co-ops and WAGES: The Network also serves as a forum for co-ops to learn about and support WAGES’ fundraising efforts and other initiatives.
- Membership: There are different levels of membership to the Network; full membership, affiliate and friend. Levels of membership are determined by the relationship with WAGES (WAGES start-ups versus co-ops started by partner organizations), level of training and level of compliance with Network standards. The Network provides services for co-ops at any stage of development, including mature co-ops that do not have specific commitments to growth.
- Shared Business Services: The Network is also a starting point for businesses that would like to take advantage of the Shared Business Services. Network members and non-members could potentially have access to Shared Business Services, with the exception of the marketing-related services.
