WAGES seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated intern who is interested in working to create more sustainable green jobs with business co-ownership for lowincome Latinas.
About WAGES
WAGES (Women's Action to Gain Economic Security) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the economic well being of low-income women through cooperative business ownership. WAGES works with Latina immigrants to build eco-friendly housecleaning cooperatives in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. WAGES is located in downtown Oakland only 2 blocks from the 19th Street BART station.
About the position:
Fall Internship available for student interested in assisting General Manager with the launch of a new worker-owned green cleaning cooperative in San Francisco.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Market research with potential co-op clients
- Identification of potential channels for marketing co-op’s cleaning services
- Evaluation of census information for identification of neighborhoods with highest potential
- Coordination of website development and SEO strategy development
- Assistance identification of potential offices space and other launch activities
Skills required:
- Excellent Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Business/Economics/PEIS majors preferred
- Knowledge of Spanish a plus
Interest in sustainability and non-profits preferred. Undergraduate Juniors or Seniors only.
